ABSTRACT

Workers involved in the production of cane sugar may be predisposed to various environmental hazards such as physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic. The aim of this study was to compare the perception of environmental risks and personal and occupational characteristics of rural manual workers with machine operators and the possible correlation between these variables. This is a cross-sectional study where the results showed that both groups machines are significantly exposed to aggressive environment found in prevailing noise and vibrations in the workers operators machine and the biological and ergonomic hazards in the manuals.
