With the title "Criminalization of the addict Practice of Social Work front of Users of Alcohol and Other Drugs: A reality challenging the Social Worker", this monograph will engage in a discussion of the abuse of alcohol and other drugs by society and to present some reasons that lead to substance abuse to be approached with a bias criminal nature, ie, the individual is excluded from society and seen as a criminal. To this end, the category conceptualize addiction in Brazilian society, as well as the abuse of psychoactive substances, presenting and also highlighting the role of the state in guaranteeing social rights. Emphasizing the role of Social Workers in the realization of social rights of users of alcohol and other drugs, and rehabilitate them.
